Custom printed sell sheets can be very effective when trying to engage with consumers about a product or service. These sheets can present a large amount of information in a small space when designed well. Let us help you design your next business sale sheet.
Below you’ll find helpful tips to help with the design process of your sell sheet.
Sell Sheet Design Tips
Make certain that the copy in the sell sheet is brief and concise. Do not waste space on meaningless phrases or long explanations of technical processes. You want the reader to move through the sheet quickly without losing interest. Use short paragraphs, charts and illustrations to convey information instead of large blocks of uninterrupted text.
Define the Problem, Solution and Benefits
You want to define the problem your product or service solves, how they can solve the problem, and the different things that make your product or service superior to others. These three important aspects will ensure that anyone looking at the sell sheet understands what you are attempting to sell. Make sure to list the benefits clearly in a list or chart.
Remain narrowly focused on the products or services that you’re selling. Do not fill the sell sheet with competing products that may confuse readers and try not to list alternative product lines or cross sales. Keep everything on the sell sheet targeted at selling that one product or service.
Use Attractive Photos and Graphics
Anyone holding the sell sheet is going to look at photos and graphics before reading the text. You must include attractive photos of the product and descriptive graphics. Make certain that the photos and graphics do not have any visual artifacts or problems after printing. Position the graphics to guide the eyes of the reader through the sheet. Read our previous blog on how choosing the appropriate colors is important when designing a custom sell sheet.
List Actions the Reader Can Take
You need to list actions that the reader can take if interested in the product or service. This should include a website address, a phone number and business address. Put this information under a call to action instructing the reader about what to do next. Leaving out complete contact information and a call to action can reduce the effectiveness of a sell sheet.
Revise and Test Before Final Release
The final step is to edit and revise the sell sheet. Make sure several people check it for spelling, grammar and formatting errors. Test whether the sheet is clear or needs to have the wording or font size adjusted. Release and publish the sell sheet only when you are certain that all issues have been resolved.
