Regardless how social media has transformed the way business owners market their company, business cards have been one of the most effective types of advertising for over a century. An important element in making your business card stand out is to utilize the same design that you are currently using for your business branding.

When designing a business card, keep the colors, fonts and design similar, as this will help to reinforce your brand and set you apart from the competition. Read how color can play an important role when designing a business card or additional printed pieces. At Primoprint, we now offer custom print design services for your printing projects including business cards, postcards, oversized EDDM® postcards, brochures, presentation folders and more.

Most businesses focus on the design aspect of the card, and they don’t spend as much time on the texture of the card, (paper stock), so most of the business cards look and feel the same. Make your business cards command attention by using thick paper stock or by including spot uv or foil. For example, adding foil to the logo will make it jump off the card and remain in the minds of your clients for a longer period of time. Also, it will let them know you pay close attention to detail. At Primoprint, we offer a variety of business cards to choose from including silk business cards, foil business cards, matte business cards and linen business cards.

Typography is defined as the style and appearance of printed matter. It plays an important role when designing and printing business cards, postcards, premium business letterhead, brochures and more. Typography can be tempting and overwhelming with so many beautiful fonts to choose from, but when it comes to printed content, less font variety will leave more of an impression.

Limit yourself to two fonts per printed piece. Choosing a specific font style can change the look and feel of your printed materials and the message your trying to convey. Choose contrasting fonts to make the content more visually appealing. For example, use an eye-catching sans serif font like Gill Sans or Helvetica for your title or headline and make sure your body content is easily read by choosing a serif font such as Baskerville or Times New Roman.

Best Fonts for Print

When designing and printing business cards or other marketing materials, be mindful of space. Some typefaces are fat and wide like Franklin Gothic and will take up a large amount of space. There are times where there isn’t a lot of space available and including these fonts may be challenging. Other fonts can be thin and narrow such as Didot and can be a better choice when there is little space to work with. The information on your printed piece is generally the main focus, and it’s key to make a lasting first impression. Make sure that the fonts you choose are both visually interesting and comprehensible to your audience.

While there are a variety of printed materials to increase conversion rates, printing business brochures can be a particularly effective outbound marketing technique.

If your business is thinking about using brochures to share information regarding its products and services with the public, the following strategies can be beneficial.

Designing Tips

Charts and Graphs

In many cases, you may want to include complex data in your brochure so that your customers attain a thorough understanding of the products and services you’re offering. When this happens, you can make it easy for your prospective clients to grasp your concepts by including charts and graphs in your informational brochures.

In addition to breaking down complex concepts into easily digestible material, charts and graphs can enhance the aesthetic appeal of your brochure by adding variety of shapes and colors. Since this is the case, you may want to make use of charts and graphs in your brochures even if the information found therein can be understood without them.

Value-Adding Information About Products And/or Services

While creating and disseminating information regarding your business’s products and services is a great step towards increasing your conversion rates, you have to go beyond simply informing prospective customers about the fact that you’re selling something.

Specifically, you have to show your customer that the products and services you’re offering are valuable. This component of the marketing process is important for several reasons, including the fact that your target audience may already be using a product that is similar to your own.

When this is the case, you need to build value by showing the distinct benefits or attributes that your product has, which can help make it stand out against its competitors.

Include a Call To Action

One of the most important aspects of a great brochure is the call-to-action. After you’ve introduced your products and built up their value by providing the prospective customer with important information, it’s very important that you include a call-to-action.

Although broadly defined, the call-to-action basically amounts to you asking the customer to complete some action that will precipitate conversion. Examples would be asking the customer to “Call now for a free quote or estimate.” Another example would be “If you call within the next 24 hours, we’ll offer you 50% off your purchase.”

If you’re serious about ensuring that your business increases its conversion rates, contact Primoprint and create an effective brochures that can help you accomplish this objective.

By implementing some or all of the strategies listed above, you can help ensure that your company experiences the perpetual growth that you want. We do offer custom graphic design services. Learn more about our graphic design services.
