So, it’s important to make sure you create the brochure appropriately, making it a dynamic marketing tool for any business. Creative Design

The design can attract potential customers and is considered very important. A poorly designed brochure can turn off the readers and possibly make your business look unprofessional. It’s best to keep the design clear and simple.

The Content

Brochure Folding Options Available

The size should be long enough to cover the subject, but short enough to make the brochure interesting. The more products and services your business offers, the brochure size tends be larger to accommodate the information. Keep in mind, if your business offers thousands of products or services, that doesn’t mean you need to try and include all of them. Paper Stock

Once printed, brochures have a tendency to have a longer-shelf life than other marketing materials, so the paper stock you choose is very important. Often times, this can be overlooked. Selecting the overall thickness of the paper stock and choosing the coating can play in an important role. Selecting a glossy paper can give it a more appealing look, and using a thick paper can make it look more professional.

Below are three popular brochures folding options that are commonly used.

Half Fold Brochure

Half Fold BrochureThis fold option is one of the more common and the simplest of the folds. The half fold is also known as bi-fold or single fold. This brochure offers two equal sides, resulting in a four page brochure. The half fold option allows you or a designer to display some creative ideas. This option is great for those who want to display large images or include a group of images on either side without having the fold run through them.

This layout is often used to display images of product comparisons, a business menu or even a layout of a map. They are also commonly used for corporate companies since the layout is flexible in this format.

These brochures are wider than the other folding options, and they have the ability to grab the attention of potential customers and clients. Keep in mind when selecting this option that they might not fit into a brochure rack that’s often found in stores, hotels or welcome centers. If this is a concern, we highly recommend using the tri-fold option.

Tri Fold Brochure

Tr-Fold Brochure Printing OptionThis is a very popular folding option. It is most commonly included in a marketing campaign as it is great for showcasing a business, promoting a brand, and highlighting products and services effectively. The tri-fold brochure offers two folds which forms three double-sided panels, resulting in a six panel brochure. The common size is the 8.5×11” brochure. These brochures are easy to carry and hand out, easily placed into a bag or a pocket, and they take up less counter space.

Gate Fold Brochure

When you want to create a dramatic opening, the gate folded brochure is a great choice. It instantly grabs the readers attention. These brochures offer a wide opening and can be described as if two doors side-by-side are being opened at the same time. When opened or closed, the left and right sides fold inward toward each other, and they meet in the middle. By doing so, they create a seamless look when closed. This type of brochure fold makes eight total panels, where the two sides are the same size and the middle panels are slightly bigger.

For those looking for a brochure to display images that are wide, such as a landscaping company or architecture firm, these brochures are perfect. The gate fold also allows you to also display a lot of information, without the brochure feeling overwhelming.
