Have you ever been tempted by a college university for a promotional item in exchange for filling out a free admissions application at a college fair? Or maybe you’ll receive 50% off your first purchase when you sign up for a clothing store’s credit card program. Perhaps a brewery is offering free stickers at an outdoor beer festival. These are but a few types of event marketing we engage with on a regular basis.

Event marketing strategies are designed to leave a lasting brand-centered impression by grabbing the potential customer’s attention. It provides value to attendees beyond surface information If properly executed, it will give each of them a resonating experience.

According to a 2012 study by the Event Marketing Institute, 58% of event marketing participants purchased the marketed product after the event, and 86% of these consumers became regular customers.

In order to pull off a successful campaign, it’s critical to identify the target audience and create an experience that’s sure to remain in attendees’ minds. Through interacting with both current customers and prospective buyers, a brand can build a favorable impression and long-lasting relationships.

Event Marketing can be challenging. We've listed some print materials that can help you promote an event effectively.

Below are key tools to take your event marketing skills to the next level.

These are perfect for promoting your business, product, or event. They are a great way to get the word out about deals, promotions, specials, or upcoming events. This concept would also work well for t-shirts and other products that can roll up and fit inside.

Brochures are great for discussing and displaying what your business or organization has to offer. So, it’s important to make sure you create the brochure appropriately, making it a dynamic marketing tool for any business. We’ve include some helpful tips below, from selecting the right size to the appropriate content, to make your brochure a success.

Creative Design

The design can attract potential customers and is considered very important. A poorly designed brochure can turn off the readers and possibly make your business look unprofessional. It’s best to keep the design clear and simple.

You’ll want to make sure the images and content are easy to read and most importantly, able to be understood easily. Including colorful graphs or statistics can be helpful, but make sure the consumer can easily understand the message you want to convey. A confused consumer can result in a lost sale. If you’re having a problem coming up with a design or have no idea where to start, our graphic designers will be happy to assist.

The Brochure Cover

Selecting the image and design for the cover is important. Similar to a thesis statement, your goal is to grab the reader’s attention and have them continue to read the brochure. Without a good looking cover, the brochure can be overlooked. The brochure cover should create an emotional connection, from curiosity to excitement. Be creative, so it will make people want to continue reading.

The Content

Print Brochures with Primo PrintNow that you have captured your reader’s attention, it’s time to create the content. The next step is to present your message and offers in detail. You’ll want to include content that brings awareness, drives sales, or boosts repeat purchases. Once you have determined the purpose of the brochure, you’ll have a better understanding how to arrange the content and ranking of their importance. One thing to remember, however, is that people like clear, concise content. Try to remove all fluff and unneeded text. The shorter and to-the-point it is, the more likely people will read the entire brochure.

Folding Options and Size

A popular layout that’s chosen most often is the basic tri-fold. It is most commonly included in a marketing campaign, and it is great for showcasing a business, promoting a brand, or highlighting products and services effectively. Depending on the use, there are other folding options and sizes to select from, including the half fold, z-fold, roll fold, and more. For more details about each folding option, check out the different folding options we offer.

Brochure Folding Options Available

The size should be long enough to cover the subject, but short enough to make the brochure interesting. The more products and services your business offers, the brochure size tends be larger to accommodate the information. Keep in mind, if your business offers thousands of products or services, that doesn’t mean you need to try and include all of them. You can always send readers to your website for more details or to share information on topics not covered in the brochure. View our brochure photo gallery.

Paper Stock

Once printed, brochures have a tendency to have a longer-shelf life than other marketing materials, so the paper stock you choose is very important. Often times, this can be overlooked. Selecting the overall thickness of the paper stock and choosing the coating can play in an important role. Selecting a glossy paper can give it a more appealing look, and using a thick paper can make it look more professional.

We offer different types of paper thickness (100LB, 70LB and 80LB) and coatings such as aqueous, satin, glossy uv and no coating. Depending on your message and target market, the paper stock can play an important role in the design. We’ve written a previous blog that may be helpful on choosing the right paper stock.

Brochures are great hand outs and sales pieces that allow businesses to easily and effectively display their information along with the products and services they offer. Choosing the right layout can be challenging, especially if this is your first time printing brochures.

Before deciding on a folding option, there are some questions you may want to ask yourself.

Purpose for Your Brochure:

  • What is the overall purpose of the brochure?
  • What content (images and text) do you plan on using?
  • Who are you trying to attract with the brochure?
  • Design Tips for Your Next Brochure

Three Popular Brochures Folding Options:

Half Fold Brochure

Half Fold BrochureThis fold option is one of the more common and the simplest of the folds. The half fold is also known as bi-fold or single fold. This brochure offers two equal sides, resulting in a four page brochure. The half fold option allows you or a designer to display some creative ideas. This option is great for those who want to display large images or include a group of images on either side without having the fold run through them.

This layout is often used to display images of product comparisons, a business menu or even a layout of a map. They are also commonly used for corporate companies since the layout is flexible in this format.

These brochures are wider than the other folding options, and they have the ability to grab the attention of potential customers and clients. Keep in mind when selecting this option that they might not fit into a brochure rack that’s often found in stores, hotels or welcome centers. If this is a concern, we highly recommend using the tri-fold option.

Tri Fold Brochure

Tr-Fold Brochure Printing OptionThis is a very popular folding option. It is most commonly included in a marketing campaign as it is great for showcasing a business, promoting a brand, and highlighting products and services effectively. The tri-fold brochure offers two folds which forms three double-sided panels, resulting in a six panel brochure. The common size is the 8.5×11” brochure. These brochures are easy to carry and hand out, easily placed into a bag or a pocket, and they take up less counter space.

Keep in mind, depending on the size you select, you’ll have the option to choose a folding option; flat (no folding), half-fold, tri-fold/letter fold and z-fold. Please contact us with any questions or concerns regarding your brochure printing options.

Gate Fold Brochure

When you want to create a dramatic opening, the gate folded brochure is a great choice. It instantly grabs the readers attention. These brochures offer a wide opening and can be described as if two doors side-by-side are being opened at the same time. When opened or closed, the left and right sides fold inward toward each other, and they meet in the middle. By doing so, they create a seamless look when closed. This type of brochure fold makes eight total panels, where the two sides are the same size and the middle panels are slightly bigger.

For those looking for a brochure to display images that are wide, such as a landscaping company or architecture firm, these brochures are perfect. The gate fold also allows you to also display a lot of information, without the brochure feeling overwhelming.

But folding options do not stop with the three mentioned above. At Primoprint, we offer a plethora of brochure folding options, so no matter how your brochure is being used, we have a fold for you!

Below, you’ll find an image displaying each folding option that we offer, accompanied by a short description to help you understand them better.

Affordability, versatility and design possibilities are common reasons why businesses need flyers. Whether you want color of black and white designs, you want to create ads that stand out among the rest. Using custom printed flyers  is the best way to grab people’s attention, even for a few seconds.

Read below to learn more about the benefits of business flyers, and we have included helpful tips on how to design an effective flyer.

The Importance of Flyers

Long before the Internet, businesses used flyers to promote important causes and events. Flyers are important because they are cost-effective and simple to create. Not all businesses can afford a large advertising budget and create multiple marketing campaigns.

Flyers are easy to produce, hand out, hang up in stores, parks, and on bulletin boards at your local coffee shop. By designing flyers with bold and eye catching colors, there will be no problem finding viewers. For information about colors, visit our previous blog – Colors Speaks Louder Than Words.

Features of Good Flyers

To enhance your flyer, include a bold title and headline that stands out more than the additional content. The headline is important and consists of the first words that introduce the overall message. After the header, write the body of the message, using clear, concise sentences, short paragraphs and to the point. Customers can get distracted easily if the flyer offers too many details. Include a “call to action” in the flyer that explains to the customer what action he or she needs to take.

The design part is usually the easiest part of the process. Whether you’ve already got a design, have a general idea, or need some help with a custom design, we can help!  There are no limits to creativity when it comes to marketing. First, know your audience and know what they would want to see as consumers.

Incorporating flyers into your marketing campaign is easy and cost-effective. You can use flyers for various reasons to promote store openings, business seminars, speaking events and more.
