Macaroons on Kraft

Everything you need to know about… Kraft

What is Kraft?

Our Kraft paper is manufactured by the legendary French Paper Company. This particular stock was created back in 1955 and was the first of its kind. It’s created by mixing thick, light brown natural fibers and subtle visible flecks, which gives the paper an organic look and feel. And because this stock is created from 100% recycled material, it has the perfect rustic and eco-friendly appeal.

Why print on Kraft?

Sitting at 18pts thick, this paper is not only durable, but it also offers a look and feel like nothing else. Whether you are going for an organic look, rugged masculine appeal, southern charm, casual elegance, or beyond, this paper is sure to turn heads.

What products come on the Kraft paper?

As a standard item, Kraft paper comes in a large variety of products. Order business cards, hang tags, announcements, postcards, and trading cards using Kraft paper.

What is a “White Ink Mask”?

When printing on Kraft paper, it’s important to keep in mind that ink is a semi-transparent substance. When it’s placed on white paper, the colors will appear truer to color because there is nothing obstructing the color. When printing on Kraft, the brown of the paper will show through the ink. This is great for some desired effects. However, sometimes it would be nice if your ink color popped off the page more. This is where the white ink mask comes in.

During the printing process, we place white ink down in your designated areas first. Then your colored inks go over the top. This creates a barrier between the color of the paper and the color of your ink – making your ink appear truer in color. Another advantage of this is that you can also print with white ink, without printing a different color over the top, revealing the white ink in your design. Only one white ink mask file is required per side.

Can you write on Kraft?

Yes! Kraft is an uncoated stock, which is perfect for writing on. All writing utensils will work well – including pencils.

Does Kraft fold?

Due to the nature of the paper, we are not able to fold the Kraft paper. It tends to crack at the fold line, so it’s best to leave it flat.
