We are excited to announce that your Primo Print experience is about to get even better with the upcoming launch of our new website.

Why a new website? You spoke and we listened to your requests and suggestions, building them into the new Primo Print website.  We built this site in-house from the ground up.

When we launched our current site in 2013, many of you had to create new accounts and lost some of you order history. We have gone to great lengths to ensure that your current account login and order history will transition seamlessly to the new web site.

18 months in the making, our new site has dozens of new features and systems including:

New File Upload

Our new system gives you the option of uploading your files on the product page, in the shopping cart, or after you complete your order. Your files will be pre-flighted on the fly with on screen proofs as well as downloadable PDF proofs. Have a lot of cards with common files? Not to worry; just mark which files are common for all sets and just upload that file one time.

New Shipping Options

With our new site you will be able to to ship each set to different locations without having to place multiple orders. Our new production estimator will also tell you when a product will complete production and arrive to it’s destination based on the type of shipping that you select.

New Product Selector

No need to search through the long list of products.  Use our Product Builder or Products Selector to accurately and quickly select the product and finish that you need!

Why is the Type of Paper Important?

The type of paper you choose to print on influences several things, including:

  • Perception of your business
  • Printability and reproduction quality
  • Cost to mail the product
  • Durability
  • Appearance and feel of the paper

All of these aspects should be considered when choosing the right paper.

Color and Brightness

Color is almost as important as the type and weight of the paper you choose. White is the most popular color, but off-white is a great choice as well because it has less glare. Most novels and manuals use off-white paper.

The brightness of paper is a measurement of how much light it reflects. Generally, paper reflects between 60% and 90% of light. Brightness has a major affect on readability – the higher the level of brightness, the harder it is to read the document (bright paper also contributes to eye strain). On the other hand, low brightness can make the document look blurry.

Coating

Choose from either coated or uncoated paper; make this decision carefully, since the coating is what will affect the feel of the product. Coated products can have coating on either one or both sides; options include gloss, silk, matte and semi-matte. If you’re printing artwork or photos, any coating is fine with the exception of matte.

When deciding on the paper, below are a few questions you may want to ask yourself:

  • What is the final product? Are you making a book, posters, business cards, brochures, flyers etc?
  • What type of impression do you want to make with the document? Does it need to feel solid or is it okay if it doesn’t? Do you want a traditional product or something more creative and unique, such as letterpress?
  • How durable does the product need to be? A book, for example, should be more durable than a business card; a business card should be more durable than a special event flyer.
  • What’s going on the printed document? Is it going to be text-heavy or are you going to include photos?
